RI033 - Ambrotype of Young Confederate - S O L D
1/9 plate Ambrotype image of a Confederate Enlisted Man. He is wearing a Bow Tie and it
appears that his cheeks have had a slight coloration added. Image shows discoloration area running
from near soldier's head to shoulder on the outer fringe area. Image shows great
detail as well as several lines in the emulsion which is visible in the
scans. Image has been signed but has faded
past the point of determining just what it is. Full case had become detached over the years and linen tape
has been applied to the case spline to protect the image as well as allow for Clasp to be fully
functional. Case shows quiet a bit of wear and the portion which holds the
clasp is loose from main case frame.
